The city's highest point at 145 feet, Sydney's museum of astronomy offers visitors a chance to see the southern skies through modern and old-fashioned telescopes. Its continuous exhibition, By the light of the Southern Stars, includes a section which deals with Aboriginal people, Australia's first astronomers and observers of the constellations in the southern sky. A guided evening tour allows you to take a close-up look at the planets, while a hands-on planetarium exhibition is also quite popular. Other interactive displays include constellation charts and talking computers as well as games that illustrate the principles of astronomy.
