Officially named the Holy Trinity Church, this was dubbed the Garrison Church because it was the colony's first military church. Located on the eastern side of the Rocks, the Garrison Church was built in 1840. Every morning, soldiers marched from the Dawes Point Battery to the church. In 1855, Garrison Church went under construction to accommodate up to 600 people. Regimental plaques hanging along interior walls recall the church's military associations. Other features to look out for include the brilliantly coloured east window and the carved red cedar pulpit
