However, as a result of the increase in popularity of the Chinese community, Chinatown now encompasses areas stretching in all areas surrounding the traditional Chinatown. Through time, it has developed into a Chinatown that would rival any across the world with authentic looking street lanterns and archways and many distinctive shopping and eating outlets. These include grocery stores, restaurants, jewellery stores, herbalists, butchers and Chinese arts and crafts.
