This 220 hectare park has a long and proud history. On 1st January 1901, more than 100,000 people gathered in Centennial Park to witness Australia become a part of the Commonwealth when the first Australian Federal Minister was sworn in by the first Governor General of Australia. The park's beauty manifests itself in meticulously landscaped lawns and rose gardens. On many days, you can catch people biking, jogging, walking, painting, sleeping, picnicking and horse-back riding.
