Built in 1816 to service the Sydney Waterways and the Government fleet in the 1800's, this sandstone cottage now serves as the information centre for the Sydney Harbour National Park. The oldest standing house in Sydney, it was named after John Cadman who was a convict in 1798 and who lived in the cottage till 1846. Originally built on the foreshore of the harbour, it is now set back from the water's edge as a result of successive land reclamations.
