Australia has strict laws prohibiting the import of weapons, firearms, and drugs and severe penalties are handed out for infractions. On arrival you will be presented with a customs declaration form. Any goods with an animal or vegetable origin must be declared. Throw out questionable items in the big customs bins as you leave the plane and declare anything about which you have the slightest suspicion. Note that cash amounts of more than $A10,000 in bank notes and coins must be declared.
